C/C++, OO (Object Orientated) Design, UML Modelling, Test driven development (TDD) Software Engineer/Programmer/Developer; Poole, Dorset Morson International is pleased to offer this fantastic role on behalf of our client, who are currently seeking to recruit a C/C++ Software Engineer who will be based in Dorset on a permanent basis. Our client'€™s highly technical engineering team is looking for Software Engineers who want to work on software that will be applied to their main product lines and quickly released to the market. Working on providing carefully crafted guidance and safety solutions into the construction industry, this expert engineering team create real-time solutions that interface directly with physical aspects of machines such as excavators and diggers. Using a combination of in-house hardware and industry standard software development, the business solutions both directly read information from sensors on machines, and provide control of hydraulic systems to suit. This role is a for a small dynamic company which is part of a wider national group. The engineering team needs pro-active and flexible programmers who are able to combine skills in software creation with a good understand of the physical world that their code will influence. Their market leading position requires extreme care and attention for safety, whilst looking to ensure modern technology can drive the state-of-the-art into the real world. Candidates should have the following knowledge, skills and expertise: Candidates will be able to use standard languages such as C and C++, combined with an ability to work on both bespoke and standard operating systems. They will work well in a small and friendly team environment where new challenges are met with enthusiasm, and cooperation is essential. Finally, a good appreciation of mathematics (especially trigonometry) will provide an essential base. Good knowledge of software development using C and C++. Excellent knowledge of using Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. Good working knowledge of using PCs running Linux Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledgeable in the concepts of Object Orientated Programming & System Design. Knowledgeable in UML Modelling. Ability to write well commented, maintainable and testable code. Ability to produce clear and understandable documentation for System, Software and Test Plans. Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally. Understanding of Software Engineering Development Methodologies, Waterfall, V Model, Agile. Good working knowledge of technologies and design concepts for multi-user systems, multi-system systems, communications technologies and databases. Experience of Software Configuration Management â€" Subversion/Synergy/PVCS or similar highly beneficial.
