Buyer - Up to £26,000 - Portsmouth - Purchasing Experience Required. A Buyer is required to join a growing manufacturing team based in Portsmouth. For this Buyer position previously purchasing and MRP experience is essential and a CIPS or equivalent qualification would also be preferred. The Package. Up to £26,000 Dependant on Experience. The Role. - Purchasing engineering components and materials using MRP system. - Responsibility for all purchasing/procurement activities across a particular range of products, focusing on quality, cost (including cost reduction) and supply. - Purchasing materials / products internationally, from Europ and North America. - Negotiate & manage any supplier contracts as required. - Monitor & develop supply chain performance on delivery, quality & cost. - Keep up to date on market changes that effect supply & price of goods. - Liaise with engineering department. - Understanding previous selling patterns and forecasted forward demand utilizing report systems to ensure stock levels are in line with sales forecasts and maintain. Requirements. - A Manufacturing / Technical / Engineering background require. - CIPS qualification would be beneficial. - Experience using an MRP system will be essential. - Good negotiating skills. - Understanding of cost control. - Willing to travel on supplier meeting if needed.
