We are delighted to be exclusively retained by our client, Advanced Supply Chain which was founded in 1997, and is major 3PL business employing in excess of 800 people. On target to hit GBP100m turnover by 2017, it provides customers with end:to:end supply chain solutions including freight forwarding, contract logistics, value added services and UK distribution. Their subsidiary Advanced Forwarding (founded 2010) has grown to circa GBP14m turnover and wishes to appoint an exceptional Business Development Manager to cover the UK and continue to expand and develop the business. The Role Reporting to the Operations Director of Freight Forwarding, you will develop and deliver a commercial strategy that exceeds sales and profitability targets whilst building the building their brand. An ambitious and driven sales leader, you have outstanding sales and negotiation abilities with proven commercial experience. Apart from hitting your own revenue and profitability targets, you will also develop and implement prospecting activities to build a new longer term business pipeline, will maximise customer retention, and will contribute to the development of new and enhanced customer propositions. As a senior member of the freight forwarding team, you will be expected to be able to develop strategic relationships with key service providers and partners, and will also possess the skill and experience to effectively analyse and report new industry trends. The Ideal Candidate You must be from a freight forwarding sales background with a demonstrable track record, and sufficient experience to succeed in this challenging post.
