We are looking for Pharmacists to join our team on a Bank basis; to be responsible for the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high quality prison pharmaceutical service within HMP Isle of Wight.HMP Isle of Wight is a category B training prison housing around 1100 prisoners across two sites. Primary healthcare is provided through two clinic centres. There is also a purpose-built pharmacy and an 18 bed in-patient healthcare unit. Responsible To. Lead Pharmacist. Key Responsibilities. Youll be responsible for the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high quality prison pharmaceutical service and medicines management.Other responsibilities include:.To work with the dispensary manager and lead pharmacist to manage, supervise and organise the pharmacy clinical service provision to the prison, planning your work and work of others, to ensure that it is compliant with statutory controls, professional and contractual requirements and local/national policies and guidance on medicines. .To provide clinical pharmacy services to HMP Isle of Wight that considers the needs of the individual patient and safety of the wide prison..To ensure you personally have high standards of work, both clinical and dispensing and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) as directed by the lead pharmacist..To apply the prison formulary, in collaboration with primary care colleagues and advise the prescribers on areas for improvement and efficiencies..Provide clinical screening and final accuracy checks when working in the dispensary..Ensure all work is carried out in a timely manner to meet the requirements of the delivery service across the prisons. .Work directly with patients in the supply of medication and advice, working alongside other members of the pharmacy team, nurses and prescribers..Responsible for the maintenance of medicines management documentation at HMP IOW..Ensure that incidents involving medicines are reported in line with Care UK policy and remedial actions to reduce risk of recurrence are developed, communicated and implemented. Skills & Experience. To be successful in this role, you will have:.Relevant post-registration experience working as a pharmacist in community, hospital or primary care setting..Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.Familiar with the latest pharmacy legislations - NICE, NSF and Clinical Governance..Familiar with Government policy and vision for the development of Prescribing & pharmacy Services within a prison setting, including IDTS..Ability to work with minimal supervision and evaluate own work..Sound clinical/pharmacy knowledge..Facilitate team professional and continuing education development..Evidence of team leadership and supervision of junior staff - leading and managing the implementation of change. Qualifications. .Registered Pharmacist - BSc or Masters Degree in Pharmacy.Registration with the GPC. Additional Information.
