CVT Botton Village Community, Danby near Whitby, provides supported living, learning and working opportunities for adults with a learning disability. We are part of The Camphill Village Trust (CVT) which is a national charity that offers a shared living environment and support for adults with learning disabilities to fulfil their potential for choice, inclusion and control. We are recruiting for people to work on a casual/bank basis who share our enthusiasm and commitment to provide quality support for adults with a learning disability. We are recruiting to enable people to live lives which are socially connected and full of meaning and purpose. Everything we do focuses on helping our residents live the life they choose and by working in partnership with them, their families and social workers, we create a flexible approach that meets their needs, whether they need a lot, or just occasional support. As a casual/Bank Support worker, you will be working directly with different residents in a variety of settings from houses to workshops. Supporting them through their day-to-day lifestyles, you will be working with vulnerable people in different ways such as providing emotional support, hands-on support as well as assisting residents in various activities to fully enhance their lifestyle. As a casual/Bank Support worker you will have the opportunity to pick and choose the hours and days that you work, as well as the flexibility to work around any existing commitments you may already have. (Shifts may include; bank holidays, weekends, waking nights, sleep-overs, long days or short shifts). We are under no obligation to offer you shifts, and cannot guarantee regular or set hours. You would be perfect for this job if: You are passionate about helping others and have the ability to support and encourage people to achieve their full potential. You are committed to ensuring that people with disabilities are valued and enabled to take control of their own lives. You are able to follow support plans. You have existing experience in the Care sector within the last two years. NVQ Level 2/3 Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable but a willingness to work towards this is essential. It is desirable that you show some knowledge and understanding of intentional communities. In addition, the flexibility to base your work around existing commitments is also a massive benefit! You will also be provided with free in-house training and a free DBS check through your application process.
