Job Title:Workshop Manual Author/Technician Job Purpose: To develop service workshop repair methods and accompanying labour times using a combination of CAD and actual vehicle layouts. In doing so ensure both cost effective and achievable repairs are developed to suit the customers service repair network. Main Responsibilities: Where appropriate liaise with customers aftersales department * Utilise CAD data and software tools * Interpret both CAD data and technical specifications * Using a structured authoring environment devise easy to follow repair procedures * Create graphics to accompany repair procedures * Develop appropriate labour times * Carry out on-vehicle validation of major repairs Person Specification: * Ideally have gained previous experience working in a service workshop environment * Experience of using electronic workshop manuals * Excellent working knowledge of modern vehicle systems and components * Good skills in both spoken and written English * IT and computer literate (Microsoft suite) * Experience working with content management systems, xml editors * Where appropriate be capable of working remotely on the customer's site * Capable of managing and prioritising workload and working to deadlines * Able to identify areas for improvement within the finished material, and the processes used to create it
