Job Description   This is a part time post and the salary will be pro rata to the number of hours worked.   West Dunbartonshire Leisure wishes to appoint a Temporary Assistant Sports Development Officer (Part-time). This role is specifically responsible for providing invaluable support to Sports Development Officers and Sports Development Manager, while also effectively working with a multitude of internal and external partner organisations. Key areas of work include supporting the development and delivery of community sports programmes, school sports initiatives, learn to swim schemes, clubs, coaches, volunteers and events. You should be a highly motivated individual who has a proven track record of delivering projects and achieving high standards of results. You need to be qualified to at least HND level and possess a variety of UKCC coaching qualifications in several sports with evidence of ongoing professional development. You should also have experience of developing sports projects within a local authority setting. A flexible approach to work is expected as you will be required to work in the evening and some weekends in order to meet the needs of the service. Requirements The new PVG scheme replaces enhanced disclosures when undertaking work with Children or Vulnerable Adults. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
