We are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Store Manager for our store in Colne Road. Reporting to the Store Manager you will have accountability for achieving sales, salaries and stock loss targets for your store with a typical annual turnover of £3-£5m. Working with a small management team you will take ownership for recruiting, training and managing a team of up to 30 staff. The Person Experience of working in a high volume, fast paced retail business would be advantageous although not essential. More importantly is the ability to lead, manage and develop others as you will need to be able to deal effectively with customer and staff issues. You will be able to demonstrate a good commercial awareness, possess a natural flair for merchandising and have a good eye for detail. Flexible and adaptable in your approach to work, you will be tenacious, hard working and reliable. In addition to this you will be a confident communicator with excellent organisational and problem solving skills with a real ‘can do’ attitude. Training All our new managers will spend three weeks in training in the nearest training store. This is usually based at the National Training Centre in Liverpool. After that you will receive ongoing on the job training on a regular basis to develop you further and keep you up-to-date on current policies and procedures.
