40 hours Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 6pm. Although flexibility is required to work additional days/ hours if required to meet business needs. This is a permanent role. The successful Accredited Checking Technician will be highly motivated and have their own transport as travel will be required to hospitals and other GP surgeries outside of the Wolverhampton area including London areas. Individuals will have a desire to work within an innovative mental health pharmacy team. You will be professional at all times as you will be communicating with a range of health care professionals and clients. You will get involved in all areas of medicines management, manage the dispensary workload, dispense stock medication and named patient medication. Other responsibilities include ordering stock, stock rotation ands monitoring storage, within the dispensary. This is a hands on Accredited Technician role allowing you to get involved in all aspects of the dispensary as you will also become involved in-patient monitoring on a day to basis and liaise with the clinical pharmacist regarding complex specialist treatment. You will be proactive in your approach when highlighting clinical interventions related to Patients to the Pharmacist and work to high protocols within the pharmacy business. Other interesting and associated responsibilities include carrying out audits and training and getting involved in weekly visits to their hospitals and care homes providing them with a technician service. You will also monitor the usage of specific high-cost products, ensuring that Health care clients do not order unnecessary medications and that spends are kept to an acceptable minimum where required. To make sure medication delivery is secure at the time of dispatch and all necessary documentation and paperwork is attached with this. It is essential that the candidate is registered as a Accredited Checking technician and all training is up to date. You will also be registered with the GPHC. This role will suit an experienced Accredited Checking Technician with a wealth of experience gained with either a community or hospital setting. Advanced IT literacy, especially Excel and Access as you will help prepare monthly cost analysis reports for clients. Medications management knowledge including appropriate policies and legislation and experience and/or an interest in mental health would be advantageous. Ability to cope with emotionally challenging and distressing situations is key to this role.
