Job description:
My client, a new and exciting bookkeeping and payroll provider, is looking for an experienced practice accountant to lead a small bookkeeping team on a full time or part time (4 days per week) basis. Due to continued and sustained growth over the last 18 months this business requires an IT savvy accountancy professional to assist in full ledger support, payroll and management accounts production. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of IT and accountancy systems (experience in Xero would be highly beneficial) and be interested in looking at automating and helping to improve processing practices within a bookkeeping environment where ideas are welcome. This is a really unique opportunity to join a business at an early stage and help aid its growth and direction, as well as helping build your experience and understanding of IT systems and accountancy practices. You will work alongside an experienced and qualified accountant with a dynamic approach to accounting. In this role you will be responsible for supervising and motivating a small team of bookkeepers, ensuring all accounting deadlines are met for clients, signing off work, producing management accounts and assisting with query resolution where needed. This is a very hands on role, so you will be required to lead by example. The ideal candidate will be a minimum of AAT qualified, however candidates qualified by experience will also be considered. A mixed background of practice and commercial accounting is preferred.
